In an effort to help midsize organizations simplify to better serve their customers, Oracle announced last week the release of Oracle Applications Cloud for midsize companies.

"Midsized and fast-growing businesses are rapidly adopting cloud solutions to run their business and enable them to adapt to changing business models such as the move from selling products to providing services," said research director Christine Dover. "Oracle Applications Cloud for midsize companies provides business applications that can grow and scale as businesses mature."

Oracle Applications Cloud spans critical business functions and includes Customer Experience (CX), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Human Capital Management (HCM) for midsize businesses.

Providing a simple, modern user interface, midsize organizations can get started quickly with Oracle Applications Cloud and add users and functionality as they grow.

Such is the case for the Silicon Valley YMCA in Los Altos, Calif., which plans to streamline their processes using Oracle's Enterprise Resource Planning.

"We wanted to reduce the number of days to do our close. It usually takes us 15 days or more," said Eduardo Barrantes, the YMCA of Silicon Valley's chief financial officer. "We wanted to reduce the number of days to around three and now we can do this with cloud products from Oracle."

More than 300,000 midsize customers use Oracle as a modern business platform, according to a company statement.

"Midsize companies are adopting cloud technology to drive product and business model innovation, and improve customer acquisition and loyalty," said Steve Miranda, executive vice president of applications development at Oracle. "The cloud allows us to deliver the industry's broadest, most complete suite of integrated application services to a segment of the market that traditionally has not considered tier-one solutions like Oracle."

This new offering delivers critical business processes needed to increase productivity, lower costs, and improve controls for midsize companies.
