It was great speaking with Rathinasabapathy (a.k.a., Saba), co-founder and CTO of CloudEnablers about their CoreStack product.

CloudEnablers is a cloud adoption and governance solution provider that focuses on automation and orchestration addressing one of the primary concerns companies have when moving to the cloud — lack of knowledgeable and trained cloud professionals.

CloudEnablers CoreStack helps customers automate cloud lifecycle operations and optimize their multi-cloud use.

CoreStack is a unique model that architects the cloud as code to enable continuous operations and continuous innovation in multi-cloud environments. CoreStack is able to orchestrate various automations together, which enables users to consume and use the automation solution that's most appropriate for their needs. It also provides a plugin-based approach to extend support for tools.

This makes it easy for operations engineers to automate the delivery of infrastructure and application services with complete control on all aspects of the cloud through an abstract view by providing simple forms to fill in data.

The cloud governance platform exposes operations, developers, testing, security, and finance team members the specific functions they need to do their jobs, enabling them to consume the cloud to fulfill their specific needs with custom dashboards.

Specifically, CoreStack provides:

  • Self-service catalogs for full stack provisioning

  • Operations automation

  • Optimized infrastructure utilization

  • Automatically remediated problems 

  • Security and compliance auditing using policies

Saba provided three use cases:

  1. A large Telco MSP is using CoreStack to realize cloud governance in an infrastructure setup having a mix of AWS and OpenStack private cloud. CoreStack’s capabilities are used to bring IT and cost efficiency by offering self-service infrastructure and application services catalog, controlling and optimizing resource use through built-in policy enforcement. Policies help identify underused resources, curb infrastructure sprawling issues, and identify security and compliance deviations. The customer has already realized a 40% reduction in infrastructure cost by optimizing the use of resources.
  2. A mobile payment app is running its infrastructure in AWS. CoreStack helps the company ensure its application remains in compliance (PCI and DSS) by automating compliance, deployment, and disaster recovery. It also integrates with security tools (AWS Inspector) to automatically monitor vulnerability assessment and remediate the most common violations.
  3. A large ISP uses CoreStack to manage log operations. The company generates 2TB of log data every day, and this data must be maintained for one year to meet compliance regulations. CoreStack automatically captures, correlates, analyzes, and pushes data to AWS with snapshots of archives.

According to Saba, CloudEnablers will continue to evolve CoreStack to democratize access to and management of cloud solutions by further automating the collection and analysis of data while providing more automated solutions to security issues.
