Join For FreeProtecode launched Release 3.0 of its Software Lifecycle IP Management solutions, enabling organizations to safely adopt and utilize the most appropriate open source software for their projects. Protecode’s software portfolio covers the spectrum of activities necessary to ensure proper software governance and legal compliance with licensing obligations.
“Worldwide availability and use of open source software has reduced software development times and costs significantly, while creating a need for efficient tools that streamline open source software adoption and help manage complex sourcing,” says Melinda Ballou, program director for the Application Life-Cycle Management and IT Executive Strategies services at IDC, a leading industry research firm headquartered in Framingham, Mass. “This is imperative for small to mid-size organizations that need efficient and affordable development tools to implement software IP governance that are easy to adopt, integrate into the normal development process and do not require additional training.”
“Deep understanding of customers’ development processes and their critical efficiency factors has enabled us to construct a portfolio of software governance tools that cover all aspects of development activities and achieve unequalled functionality/performance/cost attributes,” said Mahshad Koohgoli, CEO of Protecode.
Release 3.0 includes capabilities such as platform-independent operation of Developer IP Assistant, fast and rich analysis of software including code in archives, interactive reports that allow quick access to pertinent information, source-code similarity analysis to help with legal litigation cases, and direct repository support for automatic analysis of files on check-in.
