DZone's Guide to

Pub/Sub Server, Faye, Hits 1.0

Free Resource

Modernize your application architectures with microservices and APIs with best practices from this free virtual summit series. Brought to you in partnership with CA Technologies.

The simple publish / subscribe message server, Faye, has been a popular tool, especially as a Ruby gem, for several years, and this month it reached  a major new milestone.  Although it's been popular for years, the creator decided that he could confirm that the technology is now stable by any reasonable standard, given the volume of bug reports and contributions.  Also, the WebSocket/Redis modules have been extracted over time, showing the value of the project for Redis users.

The announcement will give you more details about the polishing to Faye in version 1.0.  Faye is available as a browser client, Ruby server, and Node.js server.

You can find an old RailsCast on Faye here.
