We at DZone are inviting all of our contributors to end the year strong with the first annual "Write to Win" contest. For the month of December, we'll be tracking the pageviews received by each piece of original content published on DZone. The top 10 contributors whose article(s) get the most views over the course of the month will receive prizes, with the first-place winner earning $500.

How to Win

Be the contributor whose original DZone content receives the most cumulative pageviews during the month of December. The ten contributors with the most pageviews will win prizes.  (Learn how to contribute to DZone here).

And speaking of prizes, they are:

  • First Place: A $500 Amazon gift card

  • Second Place: A $200 Amazon gift card

  • Third – Tenth Place: A $100 Amazon gift card

The contest will run from Thursday, December 1st to Saturday, December 31st, aka New Year's Eve. Only content published during the contest time frame will count toward the pageview totals. At any time, you can view the contest standings on our Leaderboard. Please allow one business day for the standings to be updated.

A few more rules:

  • Only articles that are "DZone Originals" will count toward pageview totals. That means that syndicated content does NOT count.

  • All contestants must be registered as DZone members and have a complete profile.  By "complete profile," we mean it must have the following: username, an email address, and a photo attached to your account.

  • Content posted in the DevOps and Performance Zones will count for DOUBLE the pageviews.

Is there a limit to how frequently or how much I can post?

Nope! As long you're posting DZone original content, there's no limit. In fact, we encourage you to post as much as possible. Just keep in mind that our team may not be able to publish all of your posts within the contest time period due to editorial needs.

What if I write only one post but it gets a lot of pageviews?

That's totally fine. The winner will be determined by total number of pageviews, not quantity of content.

How will I know that I've been entered?

All original content published to DZone will automatically be entered into the running for the contest.

Any tips or suggestions to help me get more pageviews?

Sure! Share your DZone posts on social media, link to your articles on your blog, and write new content regularly.

The winners will be announced on January 3rd, 2017. We'll be posting and emailing the current standings once a week until the last day of the contest. If you're impatient to see the standings, you can view our Leaderboard at any time.

If you have any questions, email me at kristenp@dzone.com or leave a comment. You can also view our submission guidelines for more info on how to submit articles that will pass moderation.

Have fun, and good luck!
