What JetBrains has always been good at is creating "The most intelligent" tools for developers. Today, joining Java and .NET developers, Ruby and Rails community also gets their "most intelligent IDE".

RubyMine — is a new Ruby IDE that has all the power to make development with Ruby even more dynamic and productive:

  • Intelligent Editor, with full range of Ruby Code Completion, Code Snippets and Refactorings
  • Support for Web Development with Rails. including best-of-breed JavaScript, HTML and CSS editing and preview
  • On-the-fly Code Analysis providing error-free coding
  • Smart Navigation with Rails-specific project view and quick model-view-controller jumping
  • Ruby Debugger, with full support for Rails applications debugging and easy-to-use interface
  • VCS Integrations, covering Git, Perforce, Subversion and CVS
  • RSpec and Test::Unit support, with GUI-based test runner

Current release is the first "Public Preview" that will be followed by several EAP releases prior to 1.0. The 1.0 release is planned for Q1 2009.

Note: If you have been using the Ruby plugin for IntelliJ IDEA we are going to continue developing the plugin for our flagship Java IDE in parallel with RubyMine. But you are welcome to try RubyMine and let us know your thoughts.
