Dreamforce kicked off today, and with it, Salesforce announced its new service — the Internet of Things Cloud.
“IoT Cloud empowers businesses to connect data from the Internet of Things, as well as any digital content, with customer information, giving context to data and making it actionable—all in real-time.”
To go along with its bevy of products, the Salesforce IoT Cloud will give companies a more complete picture of the data they’re managing and inform them how better to capture it.
Says Gary Barnett, a chief analyst at Ovum: “The ability to make sense of that data by connecting it with existing customer information will be a key factor in turning data into action.”
While pricing has not yet been announced, IoT Cloud will be in pilot sometime in the first half of 2016, and become generally available later that year.
