The 12 Days of Content (Day 5): New Zones of 2017

To continue our fun series of articles for the holiday season, let's celebrate the new Zones that DZone opened in 2017 (with some *imaginary* golden rings).

In 2017, DZone truly took into consideration what the biggest trends in the software development world are, what our audience enjoys reading, and what techies are interested in. All this thinking led us to open two new Zones this year — the AI and the Security Zone — our two golden rings. (Who needs five when you could have two that are this great?!)

I'm the editor of the AI Zone, and my fellow editor Jordan Baker heads the Security Zone. Ask either of us, and we'll both tell you that these Zones are like our babies. Of course, we care about all the Zones that we curate and edit, but these two hold a special place in our hearts because we've pretty much been with them from the beginning. That being said, we thought we'd share the love with you and explore the AI Zone and the Security Zone from their infancy up until now.

Security Zone

Opened on January 16, 2017, this article popped out fresh in the beginning of the year. As developers increasingly shift testing left to incorporate security, we thought it'd be a good time to open up our developer audience a little more to the world of security. The Security Zone covers topics like cybersecurity, DevSecOps, blockchain, and secure code. Let's check out some of the top articles of all time from the Security Zone!

AI Zone

Love it or hate it, artificial intelligence is officially making its way into the dev world. Whether it's through chatbots that simplify customer experience or predictive policing algorithms, AI is here — and we think it's here to stay. Opened on July 17, 2017, the AI Zone is your place to go for all things machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, robotics... all that fascinating stuff. Let's take a look at some of the top AI Zone articles — yes, of all time!
