We at DZone are all about learning new things, so we were delighted to launch the "Teach Us Tech Sprint" contributor contest on April 4th. We couldn't wait to read all of your detailed and helpful tutorials.

The contest ended this morning, and we have not been disappointed. We received nearly 100 tutorials and how-tos over the course of the "sprint," on topics ranging from app architecture to web services. Overall, we were extremely impressed by the quality of content written by contest participants - thank you all for sharing your knowledge with the DZone community!

The Winners

Let's announce the five contest winners, each of whom will receive a $200 Amazon gift card. Drumroll, please.

The award for Most Pageviews goes to...

Arun Pandey!

Arun is no stranger to DZone contributor contests; in fact, he was the second-place winner of the Write to Win contest last year. Arun's three tutorials earned a total of nearly 85 thousand pageviews. The most popular of the three? "More Power to Interface in Java 9," with 32,485 views.

The award for Most Tutorials Published goes to...

Tomer Ben David!

Tomer published an impressive ten tutorials within the two-week duration of the contest. They weren't all in one Zone, either - they spanned Big Data, Cloud, DevOps, Integration, Java, and Mobile. We're glad to count such a jack-of-all-trades among our contributors.

The award for Best Tutorial goes to...

"Elegant JavaFX" by Paweł Gawędzki

This was a tough category, as we received so many awesome tutorials. After an intense round of voting, our Editorial Team selected this tutorial as the best of the best. Paweł is a first-time DZone contributor, which makes his win even more exciting. We hope he submits more of his great content in the very near future.

The award for Best Series goes to...

"Hadoop Revisted" by Tomer Ben David

Another win for Tomer Ben David! Our Zone Leaders reviewed all of the tutorial series submitted to us, and selected Tomer's as their unanimous favorite. The three-part series includes "Tutorial and Cheat Sheet," "10 Key Concepts of Hadoop MadReduce," and "MapReduce Tutorial."

Finally, the award for Best Discussion goes to...

"Building a Web UI for MySQL Databases in Plain Java" by Alejandro Duarte

When articles get a chat going among commenters, we know they're onto something good. Thank you to Alejandro for starting a discussion, and to all of the DZone readers who shared their thoughts.

Contest Overview

Congratulations to our five winners, thank you to everyone who took part in the contest. Also, thank you to our Editorial Team and our Zone Leaders for judging the "Best Tutorial," "Best Discussion," and "Best Series" categories.

All in all, we had nearly 70 contributors submit their content for consideration, and their tutorials received 465 thousand pageviews in total!

Stay tuned to the Writers' Zone for the next contributor contest announcement.
