As many of you may already know, I am not a fan of the open-office plan.
(For those of you who aren't familiar with my crusade against this hellscape of a work environment, allow me to direct you to this piece I wrote a few months back. And this one. Then there's this one, which is tangentially related. As is this one.)
Anyway, where was I? Right. Open offices are the worst thing to hit our work lives since conference calls. And offices in general.
But mercifully, Bose is using their acoustic wizardry to help everyone like me stay productive among the hubbub and actually keep our jobs.
And as CNET explained this morning -- because they apparently have someone monitoring unpublicized company updates -- Bose "quietly" unveiled their newest noise-cancelling
miracle workers on their website, slated to be available next month (in the case of the Noise Cancelling 700 Headphones) and early next year (for the earbuds).
Now, I'm assuming that if you're reading this article, you're in the same camp as I am -- yearning for the day when companies finally come to their senses and stop this madness. But at least we now have this option. Well, if we have 400 bucks to spare.
