Android developers may be interested in Jeff Gilfelt's new open-source tool, Ghost Log, which is an Android application that can be used to display the device logcat buffer in a system overlay window. It requires device root access to use in Android versions 4.1 and up, but Gilfelt also provides a workaround for developers working with non-rooted devices. The application in action looks like this:
