Learn how error monitoring with Sentry closes the gap between the product team and your customers. With Sentry, you can focus on what you do best: building and scaling software that makes your users’ lives better.

Last Thursday the W3C WebSocket and Web Storage specs reached the 'Candidate Recommendation' status -- which means that the W3C working group believes the standard is ready for implementation.

The Candidate Recommendation status also represents an official call for implementations from W3C.

This is a major step, though perfectly unsurprising. Implementations already exist, of course, so massive, unforeseen problems seem unlikely to appear -- even as questions about HTML5 security, especially local storage and geolocation, arise in greater frequency.

If you're interested in emerging standards for rich web interactivity, check out the specs for WebSocket and Web Storage, or read more about the two standards' larger goals.
