What's next for Android? We'll find out soon. Google have announced a special eventĀ  on Thursday evening to unveil "a couple of cool new mobile features.".With the amount of momentum around Android at the moment, and the iPhone 4's reception issue, perhaps this will be the killer blow from Google in the battle of mobile operating systems. There's a lot of speculation already, with the best guesses surrounding a video calling service similar to the much-hyped FaceTime feature on the iPhone4.

Other suggestions Perhaps there will be an online media store, or an improved Android marketplace. For Android app developers, the most welcome part of the event would be a preview of Gingerbread which is planned for release at the end of the year. EOver the past few months Android has enjoyed a consistent rise in popularity, even making it easier for inexperienced developers to get apps out there.

So, let the speculation begin. What features would you like to see tomorrow?
