  • Over 50,000 apps built
  • Games make up 31% of Free Apps downloaded and 64 % of Paid Apps
  • Average of 48 downloads per user

Nicer Marketplace Screenshots

Social Ebola has a great developer tool for creating better looking marketplace screenshots for your Windows Phone Apps.  With over 80,000 app developers currently registered with Windows Phone, it's important to help your app stand out in the marketplace.  Using Social Ebola's tool, you can have additional icons by creating "mock tiles on the emulator to make it look like you have more apps pinned.

Windows Phone 7 Market Share

While there are some great developments coming out for Windows Phone 7, including the official introduction of the Nokia Lumia 900 at CES 2012, WMPoweruser.com points out that Windows Phones are still lagging behind in terms of OS marketshare.

Windows Mobile and Windows Phone 7 sales (combined) account for less than 3% of the market
Android sales have dropped from 60% to 47% during Qtr4 2011, while Apple sales have climbed from 26% to 43% during the same period.

While Windows Phone 7 currently accounts for such a small portion of the market, the upcoming HTC Titan II and Nokia Lumia 900 should see sales climb during 2012.
