Windows Phone developers can start building apps that access Microsoft's Skydrive cloud storage utility today. The 1.0 version of the WP7 Skydrive API was released this week.
Skydrive is Windows Live-based and can be used through the web browser:
The service offers 25 GB of free personal storage, with individual files limited to 100 MB. The service is built using HTML5 technologies, however, a Silverlight-based tool can be installed to allow drag-and-drop uploading from any Silverlight enabled browser such as Windows Explorer on a Windows machine or Safari on a Apple Macintosh computer. Up to five files can be uploaded each time if the tool has not been installed.
