Prompt #1: What's Your Fav OSS at the Moment?

Open-source has skyrocketed in recent years, with a variety of software and tools that have strengthened their community-focus and support for developers.

What is your favorite open-source tool or platform at the moment? Why?

Early last year, DZone Research Analyst interviewed executives to discover their favorite OSS. But the ecosystem is changing so fast, there's no way everyone is using the same products and tools as a year ago. So get creative and please provide demonstrations where possible.

Sample code isn't required but highly encouraged. Lots of us are visual learners here.

Prompt #2: Call for Git Command Guide and/or Tutorials

Git going with Git! Git tutorials and commands are extremely popular on DZone. And why wouldn't they be? Git is something every developer needs in their toolbox.

Write a guide or tutorial on using Git, commands, anti-patterns, and more. Just be sure to include helpful code snippets and descriptions where possible. But above all, get creative and have fun with it! The sky's the limit!

Once again, please feel free to comment on this post to share your thoughts, ideas, questions, or other article ideas on what you would like to see in DZone's Open Source Zone!
