We hear often these days: "Do what you love". In fact, I talk about how this is my goal for those that I lead or for any of you reading this blog. I genuinely do care about this. And when you do what you love, you care about it. You care about the end product that you produce. But not only that, you care about the way in which you produce it. You care about your craft. Over the years, I have seen far too many engineers that view themselves as merely 'coders'. There's not anything wrong with being a coder, but there is with thinking that you are 'merely' a coder. What you do is incredibly important - the whole world runs on software nowadays and the code that you write is for real people trying to solve real problems.
