Throughout his career, Niklas Heidloff has always been a champion of innovative application development and an active supporter in the open source software community. After helping drive the success of a German startup, Niklas accepted a position with IBM as a software architect and spent the next years traveling internationally, invigorating developer communities around various social and mobile technologies. In his current role, Niklas is a Developer Advocate in IBM’s Emerging Internet Technologies group, where he is helping educate developers on new cloud based application development tools and techniques.
Niklas has a degree in Business Computing from the Universität Paderborn and has worked as both the Technical Committee Chair and a member of the Board of Directors for the open source organization OpenNTF.org. When he’s not traveling, Niklas enjoys spending time with his wife and his five children, learning new technologies, and sharing his latest technology discoveries on his site heidloff.net.
