As General Manager and Chief Developer Advocate, Willie Tejada is responsible for IBM’s Developer Ecosystems Group – comprised of Digital Experience, Partnerships, Offer Management and Strategy. Developers are the catalyst for today’s software-enabled businesses, disruptive innovation and art of the possible. Developer Ecosystems Group is empowering developers to solve the world’s problems – smarter, faster, together – through Cognitive, Cloud and Data across enterprise, startup and academic communities. With over 20 years in technology, Willie has led marketing, developer relations, product management and development for both startup and large enterprise organizations. This experience provides the skills needed for business transformation, scalability and disruption. Previously, Willie most recently served as SVP & GM of Cloud Networking & Emerging Products at Akamai Technologies – the global leader in Content Delivery Network (CDN) services. Joining Akamai as part of the Netli acquisition in 2007, he led the rapid growth of Akamai’s web acceleration business, and launched their security and mobile product divisions. Away from the office, Willie enjoys time with his wife, three daughters, two dogs and seven chickens. He is a vintage motorcycle restorer and racer, avid golfer, DJ, filmmaker and aspiring cook.
